China Trade Development Corp. is a full-service Asian trade consulting, market research, product sourcing, and export management firm founded in Chicago in 1979, and relocated to the Los Angeles area in 1985. We are the first Asia specialists in the United States to be granted antitrust protection by the U.S. Departments of Justice and Commerce under the Export Trading Company Act.
# 1) Our primary business activity is the sale of industrial products into the People's Republic of China:
(A) We are proud to serve as Haskel International Inc.'s Sales Representative for China. Haskel is a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-pressure (to 100,000 PSI / 7,000 bar) hydro-mechanical products and systems: liquid pumps; gas boosters; chemical injection pumps; air amplifiers; metering pumps; and high-pressure valves, accumulators, receivers, and filters.
(B) We also function as the sourcing agent for Chinese end-users seeking hydraulic motors, gear pumps, flow dividers, and industrial controls. Our Company's president has been featured on the China Central Television Evening News. Because of our long and trustworthy association with China (our founder served under Richard Nixon in the U.S. Executive Office of the President), Chinese industrial purchasing agents often seek out our assistance.
# 2) China Trade Development Corp. began as a consulting firm in the 1970's ... and our clients included nine of the fifty largest industrial firms on the "Fortune 500." Presently, our consulting practice focuses on infrastructure projects -- and we are currently engaged in the development of a large-scale water treatment plant in Hebei Province.
We possess an in-depth understanding of China's political, economic, and technological trends, as well as the Chinese business culture. Our years of experience have provided us with professional negotiating skills which recognize Asia's special conditions -- to the benefit of our clients.
# 3) Our work in real estate has long been one of our consulting triumphs. As an added dimension, we are licensed in California as a Real Estate Brokerage Corporation. In this capacity, we assist Japanese institutional investors buy and sell in America, and we help American investors evaluate real estate opportunities in China and Japan.
# 4) We do operate in several other Asian countries besides "Greater China": Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. There, we use our Company's other business name: "Trade Development Corporation of Chicago." One of our Directors specializes in meeting planning services throughout the Asian region, and even in Europe, too. We have organized study missions to China, Japan, and Hong Kong for American computer scientists, journalists, real estate managers and appraisers, and senior manufacturing company executives.
Personal relationships are critical in Asian business negotiations. To that end, we have co-sponsored banquets and other functions for the President of China, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the heads of Sogo-Shosha in Japan, diplomats from Korea and businessmen from Taiwan, the Chairman of the China International Trust and Investment Corporation, and the Minister of Foreign Trade of China.

# 6) Our president's profile is as follows: Michael Wade graduated from The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, with honors in history. He received his bachelor's degree at The University of Chicago where he studied under Milton Friedman in economics and Hans J. Morgenthau in international politics. Mr. Wade earned his MBA degree in finance at New York University. He also completed post-graduate studies at The American University in Washington, D.C., and at the Universite de Rennes in France. Mr. Wade served in Government for nine years, and was awarded for "Meritorious Service" in the U.S. Executive Office of the President and for "Distinguished Service" at the Cost of Living Council.
